What would your life look like if it included more adventures?
What would your life look like if it included more adventures?
Adventures come in all shapes and sizes! Yes adventures might mean world wide travel and adrenaline packed holidays for some people, but we are more talking about mini adventures, micro adventures, bringing adventures in to our every day.
The Hummingbird Collective is a place to get inspired, find adventure buddies, share what you have been up to and are accomplishing. Your own team of cheerleaders who get it, who also want more out of life!
A community of women who, maybe like you, want to bring more colour, vibrancy, energy and adventures in to their world.
A community that meets you where you are at, and the adventures you want to take!

By doing life differently, we are taking steps, whatever size works for us, outside of our comfort zone.
We are gaining more evidence of what we are truly capable of, building a confidence that can help us in all areas of life...
As we know sometimes those steps outside of the comfort zone don’t always go as we would hope, and that’s okay. We build resilience by finding the ways back to our true self, back to our path. The gold is in taking the step, the outcome isn’t as important.
Bringing more adventures in to our life can give us a space to breathe. It can help to reduce overwhelm, increase patience, bring more joy in to our world again. It really is a form of self-care! It is about bring adventure in to our way of living, making it part of our lifestyle.
Adventures can take us away from everyday humdrum, worries, responsibilities.
Opportunities for us to focus on that new activity, maybe it takes us offline, a chance for our brain to focus on something different, something wholesome.
With those steps out of the comfort zone, we will be getting a sense of accomplishment and releases of dopamine. Or it may be oxytocin through connection with others; endorphins through being active and shifting some ‘stuff’, or serotonin if our adventure is a new activity like pilates, meditation or walking barefoot.
Part of the journey is understanding what we want OUR adventures to look like and feel like. What is important to us? Knowing our values and ensuring that when we are creating and planning our adventures that they tie in with our values means that we will be finding more ways to live true to ourselves, living an authentic life.
Take a moment and think... WHAT WOULD MY LIFE LOOK LIKE, INCLUDE, FEEL LIKE IF I APPROACHED IT WITH MORE OF AN ADVENTUROUS MINDSET?
How would it feel to have more laughter, a sense of freedom, an openness to trying new things or new ways of doing things, more experiences, more stories to share, new people to meet...
So yes adventure can be any size, but what actually makes up an adventure? What turns an activity or opportunity in to an adventure?
I think again this will mean something different for different people, but put in to one simple phrase - doing life differently!
Adventure brings with it an element of the unknown, we don’t know how something is going to turn out, what the outcome might be, an awareness that this is the case, an openness to that unknown, and enough faith/trust/courage to go ahead. As mentioned above, I feel there’s also resilience in the mix for when that unknown maybe doesn’t quite go as we had hoped, a curiosity of life in general to be able to spot where the opportunities for adventure may be and a good old dose of connection and everything that we know that includes!
Some of the examples could be - trying a new craft, going to a different cafe, eating a different food, listening to a different type of music that you would normally listen to, stopping somewhere on the way home from work, walking your usual walking route in the opposite direction, trying a new exercise class, saying yes to an invitation to someone else’s exercise class/craft group/networking group. Going to that weekly event that you’ve always said you would. Exploring your backyard.
In younger years, it was a great aunt that called me her hummingbird, as I could always be heard humming when I was happy. Recently Mum shared a story of how I came home from school one day and shared that I had been told not to hum at school.
This seemed such a reflection with what can happen with life. We get busy, we have things come up, we have our own, unhelpful, stories running and we can lose our hum and everything that represents...
It has been quite a journey to reconnect with mine. For a long time, I had no idea who I was. I was always on the move, always searching for my hum, even if I didn't know that was what I was searching for at the time.
When I started to connect more with my true self, the path took me to finding my hum inside of me. It was the heartspace, the belonging, the safe space that I could create for myself. The foundations, the stability, the grounding that enabled me to understand more about myself, to fully embrace life again, to be free, to have more adventures...

A beautiful, gently courageous community for women to share the journey.
You're not quite sure what you want to be changing, but you feel that something needs to. Maybe you have realised that work has taken over a bit, that other responsiblities have crept in to your calendar a bit too often. Maybe you want to remember what is out there outside of social media and online games....
When we can't quite put our finger on what needs to change, it can be hard to know where to start, to know what some of those first steps might be.
Is this resonating? Wanting something more, but not sure what?
This community is for you.

Over the last wee while, maybe few months, or maybe less, you have started to get clear on what it is you want, maybe how you want to feel, what you want life, your world to look like... You're beginning to feel the benefits, but maybe you know that past efforts haven't lasted, or you've taken the first steps, but not sure how to keep taking them or what's next...
Maybe you have all the right intentions and plans, but you'd appreciate some inspiration, maybe some tools or pieces of the puzzle...
Then this community is for you.

It could be easy to read what you have done so far, and think ‘yup, I can do that, I can bring more adventures in to my life,’ and that’s great. What we find in The Hummingbird Collective is that we can be inspired by others’ adventures, we might find out about something that is happening, or something that we would like to try.
Here in The Hummingbird Collective you will find yourself a part of something, something bigger than ourselves, something that can provide that encouragement, inspiration or maybe a bit of accountability to help us bring more adventures in to our world...
Again, it can be easy to say ‘yes this is what I want to be doing, this is what I want my life to look like,’ but sometimes those gremlins and old stories start kicking in telling you that you won’t be able to do it, you’re too old/young/out of shape/useless etc. We can end up sabotaging the very dreams we want before they have barely taken shape because of the story reel that can play out.
Which is why this community is backed with tools and resources to not only help you identify and deal with/heal those gremlins, but to help you understand more about your true self, what is important to you, who you want to have around you, what you want from life, what you want to feel more of, who you want to show up as, where you want to be heading...
Think belonging, acceptance, being met where you are at... Think ideas, inspiration, tools... Think friendships, connection, people that 'get you'... Think being heard, seen, understood... Think nourishment, energy, courage and confidence... Think of the community as your fellow travellers, your fellow adventurers... Destination? Your true self and all the gold that holds!
